RN — USCIS onsite HQ Wellness Center

Background and Objectives

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Management Directorate, Human Capital and Training (HCT) is responsible for providing oversight, direction, and operational support for an integrated program of recruitment, hiring, training, leadership development, performance management, employee benefits, and work-life programs for the USCIS workforce.

In addition to emergency care, the HQ Wellness Center will provide convenient onsite care for minor illness and injury to minimize unnecessary absences that may otherwise result in basic preventive health services and education to allow workers to maintain or improve their health to prevent the development or progression of chronic disease. The RFI will gather information on the availability of contractors who have the capability to provide these services and the current industry standards.

The Office of Human Capital and Training requires contractor to manage the onsite HQ Wellness center for 3,800+ employees located in Camp Springs, Maryland

Hours: Generally between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays).

Duties:
Contractor shall provide:

  • Walk-in care for minor illnesses and injury that may be work or non-work related;

  • Routine adult immunizations according to the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC): including Tetanus-diphtheria (Td), Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap), Influenza, and pneumococcal (pneumonia) vaccines;

  • Destination specific travel information from the CDC to include RN consultation for questions about the information provided;

  • Care prescribed by an employee’s personal physician including administration of medications, administration of allergy immunotherapy, blood pressure and glucose (blood sugar) monitoring, wound care, and periodic bedrest;

  • Health screenings including vision, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and other risk factors for heart disease;

  • Management of designated lactation space located within the clinic space to include regular cleaning of the room and any agency provided equipment.

  • Participate in annual Wellness Expo and Benefits Fairs

  • Provide monthly health and wellness trainings

  • Clinic staff participation in occupant emergency planning;

  • Annual program review to assist management in identifying basic safety, health and wellness opportunities.

The onsite health clinic minimally will include:

  • Emergency response including CPR, first aid or use of the AED

  • 40 hours per week BLS Certified Registered Nurse

  • Walk-in care for minor illnesses and injury that may be work or non-work related; flu & pneumonia vaccines;

  • Destination specific travel information from the CDC to include RN consultation for questions about the information provided;

  • Care prescribed by an employee’s personal physician including the administration of medications, administration of allergy immunotherapy, blood pressure and glucose monitoring, wound care, and periodic bedrest;

  • Health screenings including vision, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and other risk factors for heart disease;

  • Management of designated lactation space located within the clinic space to include regular cleaning of the room and any agency provided equipment;

  • Clinic staff participation in occupant emergency planning with other tenant agencies

  • Annual program review to assist management in identifying basic safety health and wellness opportunities

  • Health education materials  and health education presentations (at least three 30 minute duration annually)

  • Health Fair attendance (1-2 times per year)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current, Unrestricted License to practice as an RN
Possess current BLS
